WelcomeWe provide care for children aged between 4 and 11 years old. We are registered wit the 'Care Standards Inspectorate for Wales',
(CSIW) to care for a maximum of 24 children under the age of 8 years. The number of places available to over 8's is discretionary.
We firmly believe in equal opportunities and welcome children from other cultural and religious backgrounds.
Club is held term time only from Monday - Friday. We meet in the School Hall. Our opening times are 3 p.m. - 5.30 p.m.
Statement of PurposeThe purpose of our club is to provide a safe and stimulating environment, in which children can play and have fun mixing with other children. All children will be treated as individuals and will be shown respect. We encourage children to be kind to others and we promote good manners and behaviours at all times.
AdmissionsAll children must be registered wit the club before they can attend.
Registration/Contract forms are available from the Club Supervisors Judy Mamford and Anna Phillips, or by request via the Class Teacher.
We do have an assissted places scheme available for families on low income, if you would like details please speak to one of the supervisors.
Special ChildrenSpecial children will be accepted on prior interview with parents to ensure we can meet the full needs of the child to the best of our ability.
We aim to keep up to date with plans for childcare in Wales. We will achieve this by attending various training courses and by working together eith other professional bodies in the field of childcare provision.
We believe in strong parent/carer partnerships. Together we can develop our club by sharing our knowledge and expertise.
We aim to provide accessible and affordable quality childcare out of school hours. We hope that our service will be able to support working families and those in education or training.
Details of How to Arrive in the ClubChildren MUST be registered prior to attending; failure to do this could result in the child not being accepted on the day.
Children come into the school hall, wash their hands and sit down for registration and a light snack.
CollectionOnly ADULTS listed on the child's registration/contract form will be allowed to collect a child. Any changes in this information should be communicated to teh playleaders in writing. We have a policy on Taxi collections, please ask to read this if you intend to use this type of service.
Fees and PaymentsPayment should be made in advance or on a daily basis. Outstanding debts of two weeks or more will result in the child being excluded until paayments are made. Prices are available on request. Late fees apply for after hours collection of children. Please ask for details.
ActivitiesFollowing registration and refreshments children go outside to play, weather permitting. In bad weather we have team games or P.E. equipment indoors.
Children then self select activities either games, puzzles or table top activities. They may choose to select from a range of art and craft activities. Sewing is also a popular activity with the children.
Our oustide activities could be use of the adventure playground, football, tennis, hockey or netball skills.
We sometimes have themed interest days and hope to increase our range of themed workshops available. If anyone has a special skill or craft they would like to share with us please inform staff. We are also open to suggestions.
StaffWe will ensure that our playworkers hold, or are working towards a Level Three qualification in Childcare or equivalent. At least one of the playworkers will hold a current First Aid Certificate.
We operate a 1:8 ratio in order to comply with the national minimum standards. If we take children out of their normal environment, we would be likely to increase our staff ration to ensure safety.
In the case of outside visits, parents will be notified and additional authorisation sought.
